Time Stamps by K.L. Kreig Our life is marked by them. Significant milestones to the seemingly mundane. All of them have a place. A purpose. Moments and chapters stacking on each other, building scars and memories. Creating stories that are only ours to tell. But those stamps are finite, pre-determined. And eventually our allotment runs out. This is our story. Our collection of time stamps. The culmination of our love, our struggles, our redemption and our heartbreak. This story isn’t always easy, but it is real. A genuine account of utter devotion, where every page is crammed with pure emotion and truth and the gift of loving another person more than yourself. Share with us in our dreams, our laughter. Cry with us in our sorrows, our pain. Take this journey through our time stamps with Laurel and I, and I will meet you at the end. ~ Roth Warren Keswick Goodreads Amazon

Sithe (Blades of Arris #1) by Starla Night It’s a routine mission. Hunt down the ones who dared – dared – steal our sacred procreation metal from us, the rulers of the empire. The Arrisans conquered Earth in a day. They smashed into our helpless planet like a wrecking ball, and overnight, everything changed. That’s what our history books say. The truth is, I’ve never seen an Arrisan face-to-face. But when my lone medical ship is attacked by ruthless pirates, the nightmare that hunts them down is no hero. Cloaked in assassin’s gray, metal scythes fused to his wrist-bones, he is the grim reaper of the conquerors. The Arrisan elite special forces. A blade. Luckily for me, he’s in a good mood now that he’s the last man standing in the blood-soaked ruins of my bridge, so he lets me live. After all, I’m just a lesser. Clearly I’m no threat. Until his body starts reacting to mine… Goodreads Amazon

Hard Fall (St. Louis Mavericks #1) by Brenda Rothert and Kat Mizera The St. Louis Mavericks are having the best season in team history. On pace for a pro hockey record, the unexpected death of their captain and star player knocks them off course in ways they never expected. Weston - My world was turned upside down the day Ben Whitmer died. Best friends since junior hockey, Ben was like a brother to me. My voice of reason and a grounding force on and off the ice. But as heartbroken as I am, I don’t have the luxury of grieving his loss. Not only do I have to hold our team together, I was named guardian of the two young children Ben and his wife left behind. Well, not just me—me and his wife’s best friend, Hadley. We’ve been left with the impossible task of deciding which of us will raise the kids, but there’s no way I’m letting that uptight ball buster have them. Lines are drawn, but they begin to blur as I find out there’s more to Hadley than I thought. A lot more. Hadley - I can’t take the place of my beautiful best friend in her children’s lives. But I love them so fiercely that I’ll do whatever it takes to raise them the way their parents wanted. Wes Kirby is an obnoxious womanizer, and I won’t let him take Ben and Lauren’s children from me. Deciding to temporarily live together in our friends’ home, we attempt to provide the kids stability while we figure out which of us is better suited to raising them. As we learn parenthood together, my enemy Wes slowly becomes something different. Something more. And I’m left wondering not only if I’m enough for the kids, but if Wes and I are enough to last. Off-Season (Scoring #6) by Jami Davenport Andy: I just ended my rookie year with the Seattle Sockeyes in a win-or-go-home game, and we went home. I played a big part in that loss thanks in part to my lack of team play. It's time to lick my wounds, re-examine my role, and come to terms with demons I've been avoiding for too long. I buy an RV and take to the wilderness for a little solitude and lot of soul-searching. Just me, my dog Bones, and nature. There's one problem. My campsite neighbor is a too-cheerful, busy-body camp host. She brings out the worst in me, but I can't stop thinking about sharing a sleeping bag with her. Kennedy: As a brand ambassador for a large RV manufacturer, it's my job to make sure everyone is enjoying their camping experience. Usually I'm quite good at fixing problems and assisting campers until I meet the hot, grumpy hockey player next door. He claims he wants to be left alone; but after one look at his lost expression, I'm certain that's the last thing he needs. To complicate things, we have chemistry, the kind which blazes past all misgivings and singes everyone in sight. Goodreads Amazon

Atlas: Arkadian Alien Mail Order Brides #2 by Tasha Black When Valerie’s designated match from the Arkadia Brides Agency offers her a deal that involves a quick marriage and divorce, she can’t believe her good luck. She can realize her dream of opening a tea shop, and without a pesky husband around she can send for her beloved sisters to join her. But as soon as she meets the blue-eyed giant who wants her to pretend to be in love with him, she is instantly, annoyingly attracted to him. Atlas lives a quiet life of leisure. His only problem is a caveat in his grandfather’s will that means he will lose the family estate if he isn’t married by the age of thirty. So, he offers his match an arrangement - he gets his inheritance, and she gets a cut of the money to open her tea shop. Nobody falls in love, and nobody gets hurt. He just doesn’t expect his pretend bride to trigger an inescapable hurricane of lust and longing in him. When a rival family member shows up and starts questioning their relationship, Valerie and Atlas suddenly find themselves a whole lot closer than they planned. They’re convinced they’re putting on a show to fool everyone else, but it seems more and more like the only people they are fooling are themselves. Goodreads Amazon

Classic Stuffed Peppers Recipe The bell pepper is an excellent vessel for stuffing meat, rice, and, of course, cheese. It's strong enough to hold its shape in the oven, and the flavor is subtle enough to go well with just about anything. This is our favorite recipe but the customization options are endless. We use shredded Monterey Jack, but feel free to swap in any other melty cheese that you have on hand. You can also use another ground protein (pork, turkey, or chicken) in the place of beef. You could even use Italian sausage! INGREDIENTS

1/2 c. uncooked rice 2 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling 1 medium onion, chopped 2 tbsp. tomato paste 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 lb. ground beef 1 (14.5-oz.) can diced tomatoes 1 1/2 tsp. dried oregano Kosher salt Freshly ground black pepper 6 bell peppers, tops and cores removed 1 c. shredded Monterey jack Freshly chopped parsley, for garnish

DIRECTIONS

1 - Preheat oven to 400°. In a small saucepan, prepare rice according to package instructions. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Cook onion until soft, about 5 minutes. Stir in tomato paste and garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute more. Add ground beef and cook, breaking up meat with a wooden spoon, until no longer pink, 6 minutes. Drain fat.

2 - Return beef mixture to skillet, then stir in cooked rice and diced tomatoes. Season with oregano, salt, and pepper. Let simmer until liquid has reduced slightly, about 5 minutes.

3 - Place peppers cut side-up in a 9"-x-13" baking dish and drizzle with oil. Spoon beef mixture into each pepper and top with Monterey jack, then cover baking dish with foil.

4 - Bake until peppers are tender, about 35 minutes. Uncover and bake until cheese is bubbly, 10 minutes more.

5 - Garnish with parsley before serving.
